Position Summary
As a central engineering packaging engineer, will use Clorox engineering
principles and Early Management tools to design, modify capability and
improve packaging systems in various Clorox manufacturing facilities.
Frequently will work as part of multi-functional teams, providing
packaging engineering functional expertise for project design,
construction, commissioning, and start-up. Project work will include
travel and is expected to be 30-50% of time as dictated by work
assignments.
- Using Clorox engineering standards and processes, develop detailed
project scope of work and cost estimates related to the design,
functional changes, and improvements of packaging systems.
- May perform functions of capital project manager which includes
responsibility for defining overall project scope, cost, obtaining AFE
approval, procurement and construction management.
- With the assistance of others defines, manages, and critically
reviews work products from outside engineering firms to provide detailed
engineering work for projects
- Technical owner (equipment specialist) of a packaging line major
machine center(s). As a member of the equipment specialist team,
responsibilities will include documentation of specification standards,
maintaining an equipment matrix, and providing technical oversight
across all business units.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years general experience in
manufacturing field, 2-3 years in engineering
- BS, Engineering discipline (mechanical engineering degree desired)
- Five or more years experience in a progression of assignments
developing increasing expertise in packaging engineering discipline.
- Must have good written, listening, and verbal communication skills
and be able to communicate effectively with various levels of
organization.
- Must have the ability to effectively organize and lead meetings.
- Must be able to operate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Must have ability to plan and organize work independently and work
with minimum supervision.
- Must have the ability to lead small informal and formal teams.
- Must demonstrate attention to detail.
