Position Summary:
This individual will be responsible for the analysis, operational
improvement, design, and implementation and engineering primarily for
packaging equipment and manufacturing systems. The work will also
involve providing ongoing technical support to plant operations.
Assignments emphasize manufacturing systems analysis, equipment design
and/or project management. Plans and executes small to medium size
projects, which utilize experience and participates on teams as expert.
Experience and Skills:
- Working knowledge required of manufacturing equipment/systems
with a specific emphasis on Liquid Filling, Labeling, and Case
Packaging. (Experience with equipment types/styles and line speeds
similar to the Company's current production systems a plus).
- Knowledge and experience in blow molding or injection molding
are desirable.
- Ability to collaboratively analyze and evaluate packaging
operations and work with operating teams to implement changes in
systems, equipment, procedures to affect operational improvement.
- Able to use engineering methods for the development of
packaging systems designs including: equipment layout drawings,
determination of relative machine speeds, accumulation/buffer sizing,
conveyor speed selection, case handling systems, palletizing equipment,
line automated control functionality descriptions.
- Broad knowledge of commercial packaging equipment.
- Understands the basic fundamentals of effective early
management and preventative maintenance.
- Understands and experience in Continuous Improvement Processes
Management Skills:
- Manage planning, analysis, submission, approval and execution of
expense/capital projects including: cost, schedule, and quality, start
-
up/commissioning and training elements
- Willing to work off-shift work as needed
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all
levels of the organization.
- Ability to function as a member of a cross-functional team by
actively participating and adding value.
- Excel in leading managers, teams and individuals through
analytical problem solving, prioritizing issues and opportunities.
- Ability to develop and implement performance measure systems
to drive positive business results.
- Must have the desire and potential to move up through the
organization.
- Solid mechanical skills and the ability to use these skills to
troubleshoot.
- Must be highly motivated and assertive with a strong
commitment to succeed
Required Qualifications:
- Degree Required: Engineering (ME, EE, IE. Or ChE) or
Industrial Management preferred
- Must have solid experience in mechanical and analytical
decision making
- Must have a minimum of 5 years work experience in a project
management
- Leadership ability with exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write concise operation reports with appropriate
supporting graphical and presentation exhibits.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project Suite products and
mainframe business applications or similar
Desired Qualifications:
- Continuous Improvement Certifications; Six Sigma, Lean
Manufacturing
- Experience in Financial / Capital management Budgeting
Development
- Manufacturing Operations Training / Certification
- Quality Certification ; ISO related
- Experience in SAP
